No.13 !!! - Louden Up Now

With Chemical Brothers, Norman Cook et al doing their utmost to kill off dance music of late, there has never been a time so desperately in need of !!!. This debut album from the eight New Yorkers promised much, due to their growing reputation on the city’s club scene, and it did not disappoint. Each of the ten tracks is a journey in itself, taking us through funky bass lines and into riotous vocals, all over some of the most infectious beats the Big Apple has to offer. Louden Up Now is a constantly changing, constantly funky and constantly excellent album. Dance music is dead, long live dance music. RS

No.12 Mylo - Destroy Rock n Roll

This is a happy, funky album for happy, funky people. From the sleazy laid back Kid Loco style funk of "Sunworshipper", to the slightly less laid back, foot tappin' funk of "Muscle Cars", to the full on dance floor, hands in the air, shake dat booty funkyness that is "Drop The Pressure", it's hard to resist the warm, joyous glow of this record. The boy from Skye done good. Just ignore the nasty taste left by the recent Elton John love-in. L
