No.17
in the Best Of 2004 Top 20
Early last year three brothers from Wakefield released
a debut album that was much more fun than anything
else in its genre. And not a damned person seemed
to notice. Previous single “Another Number” has
to be one of the most simplistic yet relentlessly
addictive songs of the last few years, but again
not many would have heard it. Still confined
to supporting bands up and down the country that
have only released one single, The Cribs are
spreading their message very slowly. In fact,
there probably is no ‘message’ to
spread. An album consisting solely of dangerously
infectious, unintelligent, guitar pop songs with
simple lyrics. Absolutely fantastic.
