Released 18/04/05

Well, it’s not the best Reuben song I’ve ever heard – in fact I was hoping it was the truly awesome newie I saw debuted at Nottingham Rock City a while back– but it’s still Reuben. Loud, raucous, energized, switched on and slightly mental are just some of the things you always get with this band, which automatically get the song 5 points to start with.

This is after all a download-only single, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re holding the big guns for later, ‘proper’ releases. Anyway, down to business – this is another excellently-produced short, razor-sharp kick in the ears from the Reuben kru, with off-kilter riffing, chant-a-long chorus and Jamie’s trademark ‘nought to face-melting in a millionth of a second’ vocals. There’s plenty of energy, and the only thing lacking is a killer melody such as is found on previous tracks ‘Freddy Kreuger’ and ‘Scared of the Police’. That said, the more I listen to it the more I want to thrash around the house pulling my metal face, which can only be a good thing.
