| Having not heard the band before I can’t verify the report, but I’m told that this is Million Dead moving into more melodic and accessible territory. Given their obvious knack with a melody, I’d say this was no bad thing at all. |

Now occupying a similar sort of territory to the excellent Drive Like You Stole It and the sadly defunct Copperpot Journals, Million Dead’s keen sense of melodic craftsmanship coupled with the finesse and creativity of new guitarist Tom Fowler allows them to carve out their own little niche. And a cracking little niche it is too, with everything in every song appearing to be in exactly the right place, and what’s more with many songs rising and falling with style, grace, grandeur and impact. Special mentions go out to "Carthagio Est Delenda" and "Murder and Create", but to be honest there’s not really a weak song here. The only problem is a slight lack of variation in the sound (something that really starts to matter over 14 tracks) which prevents this album being a real belter.
If you like your rock sharp, tuneful and to the point with a healthy dose of post-emotional hardcore sprinkled on top, then check out Million Dead.
