| For a brief time in 2004 Breed 77 threatened to become one of the biggest bands in the UK, with their Latino-tinged rock becoming increasingly popular with the masses. But after the release of 'The River', which charted at number 39, everything went really quiet. Until now. |

New single 'Alive' does nothing to appease fans who wanted a newer, fresher sound because, simply put, it doesn't carry one. It sounds like Breed 77 doing exactly what Breed 77 do best. But that doesn't mean it's a bad track, not by a long way. Managing again to fuse their Gibraltan influences into a distinctive modern metal sound, Breed 77 offer us a track that whilst lacking in originality, should at least appease those looking for a great riff and luscious melodies. Featuring a huge hook-laden chorus line, 'Alive' will undoubtedly become a huge sing-along at all future Breed 77 gigs.
The only remaining problem for the band now is regaining those fans they may have lost by disappearing so suddenly. |
