| I was a little excited upon receiving the new Clor single, I have to admit, as I’ve heard nothing but positive appraisal about this band. Alas, I was disappointed. But not for long. |

‘Good Stuff’ is a real grower. While sounding dull and unimaginative upon its first listen, a few listens later it hits you. The third single from their eponymous album, it jitters and fidgets along with a confidence rarely found in modern bands. The chorus line is immense, and the whole song is sophisticated and beautifully melodic. Even Barry Dobbin’s unusual voice (sounding scarily similar to that of Brian Molko) is a grower.
It’s almost hard to understand what makes the track so good – it’s nothing new, and we have heard it all before, but it is just somewhat different. A few hours after listening to it, I guarantee you will still be singing “let me do it for you, let me do it for me, let me do me some more”, it’s that catchy. Catchiness isn’t a bad thing if it’s done right. And this is.
Fun music is rare these days, especially with the explosion of the ‘I hate you, I hate me’ emo scene, but ‘Good Stuff’ makes you dance, smile and feel on top of the world for the rest of the day. If you are having a bad time just go home, sit back and listen to the relaxing pop sounds of Clor. You won’t be miserable for much longer.
