Fun, exciting, electrifying, fresh, different, innovative and exhilarating. Actually, who am I kidding, this is Coldplay, like we’ve always known them and like they’ll always sound.

This is exactly what I expected from ‘Talk’, so much so that I could actually sing along before I’d even started playing it. It isn’t even a bad song, it's just Coldplay, and the problem with Coldplay is that they’re dull. They have found a formula which has sold them millions of records and made them super-rich, heck it even got the skinny scruffy singer a Hollywood actress wife, and they’ve stuck with it. And who needs integrity when you’ve got millions of pounds, a huge house and a kid named Apple?

The song starts with an incredibly annoying guitar lick that I guarantee will stick in your head for the rest of the day, and the fact the vocals follow this lick in the chorus makes the song that little bit more irritating. The song doesn’t change much, it starts, it finishes and there’s a middle somewhere - maybe they dropped the guitar or the drums. They did something, anyway. It just wasn’t noticeable.

‘Talk' is dull and monotonous and will clearly be a huge hit with civil servants and Mondeo drivers, who will propel this single to number one whether we want them to or not. Coldplay are well and truly back, and they still well and truly bore me to death.

Here here! I notice somewhat of a Tinyvoices theme when you check back at the other Coldplay reviews. How odd

Liars! You all liked Coldplay in the beginning, when they were a 'new band'. Success hasn't changed their music, you've just been told by the media that it's not cool to like them any more. Say what you like about Chris Martin, he's bagged himself a top-drawer Hollywood missus. Jealous idiots!!

yeah, you're right. I did like Coldplay... But 3 albums worth of the same song over and over again, does start to get a bit tedious. Look at Iron Maiden... they just do nothing for me anymore.

Iron Maiden live, on the other hand, is still one of the greatest things you can ever see. I've not seen Coldplay but I can't imagine it being quite so awesome.
