After what seems like an eternity of touring and another eternity in the studio, Engerica are finally gearing up for the release of their debut album, and if it's anything like these two tracks, it's going to be amazing.

Huge choruses, Therapy?-esque guitar riffs, visceral vocals and intelligent lyrics, Engerica are clearly a band at the top of their game, and one that could bring back to British music the kind of fun not seen since the demise of Mclusky.

'The Smell' is a straight-ahead rock song delivered with the arrogance and confidence of a band with the world at their feet. B-Side 'A Cure For Living', on the other hand, starts with intricate guitar work and slowly builds up, via a catchy chorus, to a fury of drums, riffs and screaming.

With singles and even B-Sides as good as this, I think it's fairly safe to say that 2006 will be the year that Engerica make it on to the big stage.

I would have been very impressed.I am slightly disappointed that A Cure For iving is only a b-side though, it'd have been fantastic on the album.
