Ah, I love reviews like this, because let’s face it, it is far easier to give rubbish bands a bad review than decent bands a good review — and let’s be honest here, The Twang are incredibly dreadful.

I’m not entirely sure that this single is worthy of my (or for that matter, TV’s) attention. Its sub Hard-fi sludge is tedious at best and excruciating at worst. The lyrics are awful, truly awful. Mentioning MILFs and "teeth falling out," — at least I think that’s what he says. It’s hard to pick anything out from Phil Etheridge’s ‘tribute to Madchester’ vocals. It’s like The Stone Roses have reformed, and got bad. The music itself could draw comparisons to U2, but maybe that’s being too polite. Let’s just stick with the Hard-Fi theme.

The hype machine has gone well into overdrive bigging up this band and I can’t for the life of me see why. They offer absolutely nothing, they sing about nothing in particular — the whole song reminds me of nothing. They’re so monotonous it hurts.

All that remains is for them to slag off Kaiser Chiefs or Arctic Monkeys.

‘MAD FER IT!’

Fuck off.

Ah. Fans of The Twang. Always ones to engage you in conversation about the merits of the band they like. There aren't any, in case you're wondering.

Hahaha, I think the fan's response shows at the demographic they're aiming at.

There's nothing like a well-balanced argument.

I thought the single was very strong with a decent melody. Reminiscent of a housemartins tune and very stirring. The connection to the Stone Roses is tedious at best.

Can't see the similairties with Hard Fi (who are themselves a poor Kasabian), who's music has a more electric edge.

The Twangs single stirs memories of fondly regrettable antics which are an everyday occourance. The melody has a solid structure. All in all a solid pop song. But then it is a pop song, what did you expect? Mozart?

Ah the old 'It's pop so it doesn't matter if it's shit' argument.

I don't like the song, at all, I think it's terrible, so I'll say as such. It's the beauty of the internet.

I heard this for the first and only time the other day, and it did not offend my ears as much as I was lead to expect them to. Mainly by you, James. You therefore must be a big willy or something.

I am a big willy, this I can't deny. But listen to his voice man. Eurgh, they're horrible.

They're not likely to slag off any bands really. I like them. They're an honest band just making music they like and not really giving a shit what anyone else thinks. can't fault that.

I am not a big fan of the twang; however this tune is definately 'upbeat' and catchy. So he mentions MILF? so what..you havent seen my mates mum, they are just connecting with the majority of us out there..
