So it's 2006 and J5 are still sticking to their schtick as Daisy Age fetishists, living in a world where The Chronic had never been released.

They're still bitching about the state of modern hip hop, happily ignoring the 21st century innovations of artists/producers like the Neptunes, Danger Mouse and Timbaland. But maybe ignorance is bliss after all. 'Work It Out' is a chirpy summer tune, the sweetest fruit from an otherwise under-ripe album. The short verses mean that we don't get enough of what we really want: Chali 2na's bear-like baritone. He's the verbal Herman Munster, you know. He says so on the live B-side. Anyway, there are enough of the tried-and-tested vocal interplay between them and the sunny soul chorus shines through the song. Yeah, it's sung by Dave Matthews, but we can pretend it isn't. Ignorance is bliss, remember?
