| Juliette and the Licks is the musical vehicle of one Juliette Lewis, by profession an actor who never seems to have her mouth closed in publicity photographs. For our purposes, this is VERY BAD NEWS, as the musician–actor boundary is one which should never be crossed, on pain of death. Except for Kylie, obviously. And Eminem in 8 Mile, which was quite good. |

Sure enough, ‘Hot Kiss’ is half-assed rawk guff, which sounds suspiciously like a woman desperately trying to sound like a convincing pop star, and a bunch of slightly bored session musicians.
Will probably do quite well in America and some of the less happening European countries. |
