No, of course not. Which, I think we can all agree, can only be a good thing. Rather, this is the new single from The Answer, who are evidently one of these retro “classic rock” operations: all big guitar riffs and falsetto vocals. You’re probably thinking “Darkness”, which isn’t far off the mark, although The Answer’s shiny sound has slightly more of an ‘80s, LA kinda feel. Which is odd, cos they’re from Northern Ireland.
All things considered, not the kind of thing which would usually float my boat, but - wouldn’t you know it - the Answer appear to have roused my hitherto dormant RAWK gene. In fact my fingers are now locked in that stupid devil-horns position, which is why typing this review has taken me the best part of a week. |
