| According to their press release, The Holiday Plan "played a now infamous show at this year's SXSW festival where a member of the security was stabbed at the end of their set! (It wasn't fatal)". Why are they telling us this? Is it a doomed bid for Altamont-style rock myth status? Is their music so "wild" it inspires people to maim innocent, hard-working members of the public? |

No, sadly. In fact it's yet more of this emo stuff that you kids seem so keen on these days, and sounds like pretty much everything else on Xfm. Being, as I am, about a hundred years old, I've been bothering small children for months now trying to ascertain what exactly "emo" is, and I think what it boils down to is the drums are quite fast, the melody line is quite slow and the bands all have "plan" or "theory" in their names. Such is the case with this lot. However, unlike, say, Biffy Clyro - who The Holiday Plan supported in London recently (there are no reported casualties) - there's nothing different or exciting here. Too damn polished and drearily predictable, the sole reason for the existence of this single seems to be to keep Zane Lowe quiet for three and a half minutes. Which is, of course, reason enough.
