It's always interesting to hear how bands conjure up their names; hyperbole from myself of course, it's more often than not as dull as an X-Factor episode after the 'rejects' have been ridiculed and shown the door.
I am, on this occasion, actually interested in a band's name because the allure of the music lends weight to an out-of-the-ordinary name. The Fallout Trust alludes to nuclear wars and secret bank vaults both in name and output, which is always a winner in these days of weapons of mass destruction and corrupt governments.
'Before The Light Goes Out' is an ethereal ode with a hard lining that is very pleasing to the ear of a bloke like myself who can only share his more romantic emotions through the vehicle of guitars and drums. It shares the realms of the Scandanavian otherworldy sounds of Mew and Sigur Ros, abnormally for a band based in the East End of London (which is generally drowned in the sounds of crap electro).
With an ultra-melodic bass line at its core, the single culminates in a chorus vocal line that has intonations towards the vocoded Cher on 'I Believe'. It shouldn't work, but it does.
Ahhh so someone got this single to review. I was sent some promo DVD thing, was very interested in how this single would sound. They sounded OK on the DVD.
