There are certain words in the English language that are just amusing in themselves (at least to me). Words such as badger, cheese, monkey, sausage (OK, so my range is limited) all have a fond place in my heart. Therefore any band name that includes one of these gets at least an initial thumbs up from me, and indeed King Biscuit Time scores highly.

King Biscuit Time is the name for former Beta Band singer Steve Mason's solo project. At the time of their demise, the Beta Band cited lack of income, rather than any internal rifts, as the main reason for their dispersal. So, if this is an attempt by Mr Mason to rake in some greenery, I suspect he will probably have to go back to the day job.

'C I AM 15' (see what he's done there? Eh? Eh? Genius) blends psychedelia, electronica, hip-hop with a bit of good 'ole Stone Roses-style Mancunian drudgery into a largely unimpressive three minute long non-single. I say non-single, because there isn't so much as a hint of a hook to latch onto. The production is sparse to the point of emptiness, the drums never seem to get going, and any melodies don't seem to bother to make a significant appearance.

In fact, I think I only enjoy about five seconds of this song (there's a bit at 1:40 when there's a nice descending synth riff). And why on earth a dub-style MC is required in the last minute is totally beyond me. The B-side track, 'People Happy', at least decides to get going after a few minutes, but is still almost unutterably dull.
